Here you can find examples of my video work. I’ve been a filmmaker for over 12 years, working both as a professional videographer/producer for a big 10 university, and as a short and feature film Director and DOP.
UIowa Cinematography reel
From 2022 to 2024, I worked as a Video Producer for the University of Iowa’s central marketing office. I captured video at events all over campus throughout the year, and transformed my footage into content for social media as well as advertisements that play to millions of viewers.
Short Form DP reel
I’ve been making short films for as long as I can remember, both in documentary and narrative form. I’ve always had the ambition to create as perfect an image as I possibly can, so my filmography tends to focus on cinematic beauty more than anything else.
Visual Effects Reel
This is a short series of VFX shots I created for my newest short film, Exaltation. I used After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Blender to create the otherworldly environments of the film.
Feature Film DP reel
In Spring of 2024, I was the Director of Photography on my second feature film, How To Make Money. I lead a team of over 40 people to create a beautiful image using professional cinema equipment like the Canon c300 Mk3, Sigma and Zeiss lenses, and aperture lighting gear.
Screenwriting with an Iowa Touch
I produced this video for the University of Iowa in fall 2022. I was the lead interviewer, videographer, and producer on the project. I collaborated with director Clarity Guerra and editor Dana Telsrow to tell the story of Iowa’s new screenwriting program.
Social media content
I’ve produced hundreds of vertical videos designed for social media, both for clients and for personal businesses. Here are a few recent examples of trend-optimized videos.
Iowa but Cinematic
This video was our take on the “but make it cinematic” trend on Instagram reels and youtube shorts. I captured and selected footage that would leave an impression of beauty to people who otherwise know Iowa for corn, soybeans, and wrestling.
Day in the Life of a Cinema Student
This video was created to show potential students what kind of activities and experiences they may have on a day to day basis at the university. I worked closely with my subject to capture interesting moments and boil it down into short form content.
Ceramics process video
This short captured the process of making 300 hand-craft mugs for a local business. I wanted to capture the process as intimately as possible, so I used a shallow depth of field to bring the viewer up close and personal to the clay.
Caitlin Clark Portrait
This project documented the creation of a larger than life portrait of Caitlin Clark. It received over 30 thousand impressions.
Short Trailer
This was a promotion for a short film I created in 2022 using After Effects, which received over 25 thousand impressions on Instagram Reels.
Tile Creation
This was a project I put together for a client interested in showcasing the close details of their tile creation business.
